Pier's visit to India in Jan. 2010
Pier Oddone,the director of Fermilab; Dennis Kovar, the DOE Associate Director for High Energy Physics; and Shekhar Mishra, the Fermilab scientist who has been our ambassador and the main organizer of the collaboration with India visited five indian national laboratories. Jerry Blazey, NIU professor on leave to the DOE’s Office of High Energy Physics, joined them for part of the visit.
Fermilab and Indian Institutions have been collaborating on high energy physics experiments since 1985. Indian scientists have made significant contributions to the Fermilab program. Several students have received Ph.D. under the Indian Institutions-Fermilab collaboration (IIFC).
The United States and Indian Universities & the Accelerator Laboratories management signed an overarching MOU on January 9, 2006 to extend the collaboration on accelerator development in both countries.

Third and fourth single-cell Indian Superconductive cavity sucessfully tested
The third and fourth 1.3 GHz single-cell SCRF cavities fabricated in India were successfully tested at a gradient of 35.3 megavolts per meter (MV/m) and 37.5Mv/m respectively. Read More

Indian Institutions and Fermilab Collaboration: A Significant Milestone for IIFC
The Implementing Agreement between the U.S. Department Of Energy and the Department of Atomic Energy of India for Cooperation in the Area of Accelerator and Particle Detector Research and Development for Discovery Science was signed on July 19th, in New Delhi, during the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton visit by Secretary Banerjee (Indian DAE) and Deputy Secretary Poneman (US-DOE).
